“Born in Hungary, I arrived in Melbourne back in 1982 with only two suitcases in hand. I barely spoke English and, with a young daughter to support, had to adapt quickly to Australian life. I had to balance work and family life as I started running my own business, even finding time to earn a Master’s degree. In the early 2000’s I began investing, building a sizeable property portfolio under a ‘buy and hold’ strategy, though this might not be to everyone’s tastes. The lessons were swift, and not always fair, and had I known what I know now I’m sure things would have gone a lot smoother.
